Calvary University introduces their new traveling music group lux voces. The group consists of Calvary students and alumni.
This new group is made up of young, talented musicians, praising God through their music using vocals, guitars, drums and piano in their performances. Our goal is to serve Christian schools and churches by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through music and testimonies.
The group will be available for Sunday morning church services and Christian school chapels as a way to introduce or familiarize Calvary University to families around the metro area with an interest in a local university.
The group debuted at the President’s Dinner in September to a great response. Would you like to have lux voces visit your church or school? They are now scheduling for the 2018-2019 season. The group has their own equipment, sound technician, and sponsors for each performance.
On September 6, representatives from more than thirty churches and ministries gathered in Liberty Chapel for the Christian Ministry Fair. New students were introduced to many local churches. This is extremely helpful as they are just starting to search for a body with whom to worship and fellowship. Since Calvary requires eight semesters of Christian Ministry for a four-year degree, the fair was also a great time to check out all of the opportunities for serving the Lord through a church or ministry organization. Students were encouraged to visit with at least ten different representatives during the fair.
In just a few short weeks Calvary University will welcome 30 Missions Mobilizers from 15 different agencies for our annual Missions Emphasis Week. Missions Emphasis Week is a long standing tradition at Calvary. Our students have the opportunity to hear from special speakers in Chapel, seminars, class sessions and informally throughout the week. Our keynote speaker for 2017 is Dale Losch, President of Crossworld. He will be sharing with our students four words that can change the world. Also joining us will be representatives from Avant, TEAM, BMW, Pioneers, New Tribes Mission and many more. Students will have opportunities throughout the week not only to hear about missions work around the world but to get involved themselves through prayer and special outreach projects.
Around the world 2.5 Billion people are still without access to the gospel. Calvary seeks to have a role in changing that number through training our students in cross-cultural ministry and providing opportunities for them to get involved both here at home and through partnerships with many missions agencies that allow students to experience cross-cultural ministry first hand. Missions is a key component in Calvary’s mission to prepare our students to serve in the Church and the World according to a Biblical Worldview.

Answer: At Calvary’s Christian Ministry Fair
Last Thursday, our students had the opportunity to visit with those representing various local churches and get an idea of which one might be the best fit for them. All new students spend their first semester searching for a church, so the Fair helps them form a list of places to visit in person. Besides churches, students could also learn more about some organizations like camps and missions where they could fulfill their Christian Ministry requirements in the future.

That’s right! Every Calvary University student works in ministry organizations while pursuing their ministry or vocational degree. This is coordinated through Calvary’s Christian Ministry Director with the help of many partner organizations. Serving in the church and in the world is the mission of Calvary University and a requirement for every student who plans to complete a degree program. In the past, students have served in churches, community service events, homeless ministries, children’s programs, and many other people-helping ministries. On September 1, 2016, CU students will visit with Kansas City area ministry representatives from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. As of August 2016, 32 area ministries committed to attend this event.
